Beckham u are having a laugh he aint that good to be honestthe best is Ronalinho, Ronaldo and then Henery. England's best palyer is wayne Rooney but Beckham aitn that good he is just overhyped.

Ronaldinho is for sure currently the best football player in the world. As cricket said beckham is over rated, Rooney is Englands best. Despite, the fact that ronaldinho hasnt done anything great in worldcup 2006 yet, but his unpredicatability makes him the best around. Same can be said for Ronaldo, but he seems to be struggling a bit, however i am sure he will improve as the worldcup progress. His improvement can be seen from his two goals yesterday, they werent the best, but it can be said that he is returning to his form in the last worldcup.

what, other than the advertising campaign, makes bekham to be so good? i think its more a matter of luck for him to score a goal...

i think the best of the best, most adorable is Oliver Khan.. (the german goal keeper, even though he will be a substitute this tournament).
Zinédine Zidane (france) and Sebastian Kehl (germany) are also in my fav. lists... but, honestly, most of te great players has already retired, like Batistuta, and some other german players..

To what I've seen in the last while, I would have to say, that the best player is Ronaldo, but the best goalkeeper is from the Netherlands Team Van Der Heym or somtin like that, watch him play, he's so strong and mighty, even when he gets injured he never lets in a goal.

i would say rolandihino. I just started to watch football recently so im just getting to know the players. KAKA is also a good player. So far i have only watched the brazil matches cause my dad is a huge fan of them (heh like the other 98% of the world).

Well, you can't really consider one person as the best footballer. Football is so different from tennis where you have a number one!
But there a lot of talented people and each one has his own special skills. Like Beckham has amazing penalty strikes and Kaka has his super cool striking capabilities...and basically every team has its best!

I will vote for zidane. He is the best!
Another one best for me is Ronalinho for soccer. Both played wonderfully.
I agree with bhargavr105, you cannot ranked number one in football(soccer). Each one has unique skill. What about goalkeeper, everyone look at how goal is made. We should also appreciate how wonderfully goal has beed prevented.
