Angry Philadelphia Experiment - a truly horrifying experiment.Fake or true?

Another name for the Philadelphia Experiment is the Project Rainbow.

It was an attempt by the Navy to create a ship that could not be detected by sea mines or radar. To achieve this, they conducted an experiment to make a ship invisible to radar.
This experiment was kept from the public..but because the effects of this experiment were too scary, the secret leaked out.

It involved men walking through physical walls, freezing in time, burning and died. The most scary thing that happened was that 5 of the crewmen got stuck in bulkheads or the floor of the ship itself - part of the men above the deck, part of their body buried underneath. (visualize someone with the railing of a ship stuck through their stomach)

There were even rumours of men travelling through time(I must say I do not really believe in this.)

Albert Einstein had come up with the theory that if one can control gravity, one can control light bending in such a way that the object would become invisible.

So,they created a ship(I can't remember the name of the ship) with many electromagnetism devices that were so strong, they overpower gravity.

Their first experiment included animals only. The ship did indeed become invisible, but when the ship came back, some of the animals disappeared, and others had burnt or radiation marks on them.

The NAVY decided to improve on their experiment, this time testing it on humans.People argued over this matter, for the previous experiment had not succeeded well.

The NAVY ignored them, and continued with their experiment.

Several crewmen went on the ship. The ship became invisible, and set sail. The ship disappeared for four hours. When it came back, there was a greenish gas surrounding the ship. Many of the men were burning,5 stuck through the walls of the ship, some frozen in time(literally frozen),and almost all became insane.

The men frozen in time could not move or talk for days, and some, months. When they finally get out of the "freeze",they turned mentally unsound.

A man "frozen" was said that he could only get out of the "freeze" if other crew members laid their hands upon him to give him "strength" or something like that.Unfortunately,2 crewmen who attempted to touch him burnt for many days, and the fire could not be put out. hmy:

I read somewhere that a man went for a dinner with his wife and child, got up from the table, walked through the wall and was never seen again.

There are many versions of this story. What do you think?Search for the Philadelphia Experiment on Yahoo or something. Many history sites claim this is not true. However, the NAVY had brainwashed many people who were involved in this experiment. hmy:

It sounds pretty fake to me, but if it is really true, :jawdrop:

olol.omg WOW. thats the scariest thing i have read all week! month! year!

unless you have an online source though, i cant believe it. the Navy also would have kept this more secret, so it wouldnt have gotten out. and the burning thing? thats just plain weird. i think its all really weird. but hey, if it is true, look at the brightside. that ship was invisible for 4 hours lol .

[EDIT]- ok take this a little more seriously, check this out:

sounds like it could definately be true. scary.

yea.. i read this version before. The scariest experiment. hey do any of them show the date of exeriment? and also i read was.., the people who were not on the boat/ship witnessed the ship disappearing for some time. some say that after the ship returned, the people in it experienced time lag i.e, they time travelled and saw the thing happening again! i dont exactly remember the story but would like to read a nice explanation for this

xDMy friend told me this story(he described it as though NAVY was going to kill us or something -_-") I went to http://www.crystalinks.com/phila.html and read about this, and the second experiment, the Montauk experiment. There are many other websites on this.I found a website that rant on about aliens being involved in this experiment.(I refuse to believe that.)

i was lookin this up and i got a few things:

It took place in fall of 1943; U.S. Navy destroyer USS Eldridge. Also the ships war diary doesnt have any ties to philedelphia at all, it sailed in N.Y. for most of that year, and then went to Bemuda.

One thing i dont get (cuz i aint a professer) is that some say they wanted gravity machines, other say that they used heat waves around the ship. The latter of the 2 look more like it, it was in 1943, not much technology back then.
