if you guys use xanga or livejournal, the greatestjournal.com offers MORE then what they offer!! 30 mb free video hosting, and I belive about 50 mb and unlimmited icons for your journal =D you have to pay at least a dollar to get that on xanga

and you can have cutom skins, which you can get on livejournal, but still, greatestjournal.com is better XD

A blog is basically somewhere that you can post what you do each day/week. Its a bit like an online/public diary, where everyone can read. You give the link to friends and family and on forums or places you hang out.

I think if I was going to own my own blog I would probablly host it myself :P But thats for another day :P

I also use greatestjournal, although it isn't really my main blog but part of a project. (I will edit my post later -if possible- and give a link.) Apart from greatestjournal, there are other blog sites that have better services than xanga and myspace and other sites of the sort. It seems that people don't care about the horrible ads and the lack of features that many of these popular sites have...it's just its popularity that makes it have even more members since then they can "be connected" to other people. Either way, the best option when it comes to blogging is to host your own blog and get something like wordpress. That is much better than using remote blog hosting like greatesjournal or anything similar.

I have a GreatestJournal account, but I haven't really blogged in it yet. I agree, it has better features than LiveJournal, but the reason why I stick with LiveJournal is because everyone is there. The main point of a blog like this for me is mainly to be updated with my friends' lives (and update them with mine), and if I switch to GJ, there won't be anyone for me to keep in contact with
