With me its a list. I tend to have a lot to do, if I make a list and give myself deadline for completing each task I tend to do more.
If all the tasks I am completing are going smoothly, that also spurs me on.

It depends on what kind of work I'm doing. If I'm doing something at home like cleaning up, music is great to keep me going.

If I am at work, I work more efficiently when my coworkers are working efficiently.

Yah I would have to agree; having a checklist is always a plus, and being around good I would have to agree with that being around efficient coworkers is always a plus.

    Thanks!

I'm the opposite. I can't stand having music or a TV going in the background when I'm trying to work. I much prefer it to be all quiet and my husband's the opposite. He can't concentrate if it's too quiet but I find noise really distracting.

I agree on the lists, that is helpful. I also use an email reminder program so I don't forget things like birthdays or appointments. I'd really be up the creek without a paddle if I didn't use that! The best thing to make you work efficiently is to get enough rest. Without that you're less productive than you would have been had you taken a break.

I personally find it easier to work without distractions of any kind. Saying that though, I have to admit that I am very easily distracted !

Agreed, music is a big help, too loud though and you start getting unfocussed, though I always crank up the music cause I love my music!

Definatly agree with having a list and when tasks g well it makes you go even faster, though I find deadlines are bad, if you're trying to do a project for someone and they keep nagging you every 5 minutes then it stresses you out and the work takes twice as long. Give me time to do the work and its the best there can be!

I can't have music too loud or it distracts me if I'm trying to write an article, though background music or a quiet radio/tv has bee doin it for me lately. Just enough noise to hear two things and be able to keep my ideas clear on paper, it's like for men a background noise filters out all the shit we would otherwise write if the noise wasn't there.

    Agreed!

Another one you should all add is to stay hydrated. I find a glass of water, just started drinking that again, cutting down the 4 litre coke habit a day, is enough to get the brain active and keep it thinking again. A small beverage of some kind every 1-2 hours will keep you feeling good!

Especially if it's of the alcoholic kind. Kidding!

I drink coffee and nothing but, and that's a very bad habit of mine. I do need to get more water inside me for sure. I'm positive I read somewhere that coffee dehydrates you.
