Opera is Faster Than a Potato

Last week we reported how Google had released Chrome 5.0 with a video comparing the browser’s speed to a potato gun, the speed of sound and lightning.

Opera has responded with a low-budget but far more amusing video. It features two stereotypical herring-obsessed Scandinavians examining Opera’s speed. Potatoes still feature but, this time, they’re being boiled. Unsurprisingly, it concludes that the browser’s rendering time is almost 20 minutes quicker:


Who needs Google’s money and resources when you can produce excellent videos like this!

Now there's a real surprise. I'm sure even IE is faster than a potato. Although with so many patches or could I be wrong?

Google Chrome is a beast. Opera is very slow

When google builts such features in chrome, we'll see if its faster than opera. Chrome is minimized browser, commercial product for users who only want to surf.
I admit, its good for that, but it would be better if chrome would have mouse gestures.

Not a fan of Opera on the iPhone though... The speed is incredible, but the zooming and other features are lacking.
