All Free Template Theme Posters, Please READ!!!

It's wonderful to see so many great themes being spotlighted here! Thanks to all that have contributed template resources.

I'd like to ask from here on in that we use the Thread DESCRIPTION section as well for these when creating a new thread for a theme. It's right under the thread title, above the text box.

If you can include the main color(s) and number of columns in the description that would be very helpful eg, red, white, 2 column. Add a little more if you want. What's needed is something to help pinpoint its key look that people will remember.

Most people are looking for something in particular color wise. That helps members skim the topics in the folder titles to find what they need and more importantly, find it again if they already saw one they liked! Some theme names give the color away but others don't. Having more details in the thread description speeds up finding it enormously if you're looking for a theme all over again.

Also, please don't hotlink to images of a theme on another person's site. I don't want someone coming here complaining we're using their bandwidth. Upload an image to imageshack or a similar site and link to it there. Another reason to do so is that if the person decides to move his theme or take it down, your thread is messed up. Those that have done this kind of linking already (and I know there are some like that), please sort them out so I don't need to take them down.

It's great to see we're all using the same layout! Having the pic then the demo and download links is ideal. Thanks again to everyone contributing them, it's much appreciated. I think if we make these little changes it'll help everyone that makes use of this popular folder. It really is coming along fantastically well.

USE THE ADVANCED SEARCH FUNCTION BEFORE ADDING A THEME TO SEE IF IT'S HERE. THAT SHOULD BE THE FIRST THING YOU DO BEFORE YOU POST ANYTHING! IF YOU MAKE A DUPLICATE POST OF A THEME, NOT ONLY WILL IT BE REMOVED BUT WILL BE CONSIDERED POST PADDING WHICH COULD EARN YOU AN INFRACTION.

Writing colors and column in description column is really good idea, through this members can easily know what kind of theme under thread

I've added an amendment today about searching the folder for the template you want to post before doing so. I always do that myself so assumed that everyone else would too to maintain the integrity of the folder. I was wrong.

This is very disappointing that I need to post about this but obviously it needs to be in black and white to be clear.

If anyone finds a duplicate thread about any theme in the templates folder, use the Report button to let me know or PM me preferably and I'll remove the most recent version. Please include the link to the other post as well when you do.

Thanks. I would appreciate the help very much. Removing them alone is going to take up far too much time as it is I suspect, never mind tracking them down. I'm allowing all template thread posters a few days grace to find and report any duplicate threads.

That would a nice idea. It can really help for the searcher it they include some information about the theme.
