I own a website and in next two weeks I'll be launching a forum for the site. To promote the forum I have decided to have some contests on the forum. Do you have any forum contest ideas?

Depends on your website's niche. If it's webmaster related you can give out domain names and free hosting.
If it's something for flowers then some rare seeds or something. Share your niche and perhaps we can help you more

Refer contest is a good way to get people, like offer a domain or something depending on what you're forum is about. First you have to get people they're though then you can start offering promotions for members.

one thing you can do is get some members from forumpromotion.net and promotion-source.com sites. those sites deal with forum promotion.
