The trouble with "open domains" is that ownership of the domain doesn't get transferred to you, and as such, can be pulled back by them anytime.

I would be careful with a domain like this, if its for a personal site or just for fun thats ok, but if your looking to start a business site, I wouldn't use a domain that someone is letting you borrow, If the domain starts to get a lot of hits the true owner of the domain name may decide that its time do develop that domain themselves.

If ever your site gets popular, and it was suddenly taken back, then you can't do anything anymore, and there would be no way to regain all your site visitors.

So if you're planning to get started on a site seriously, then it's best that you get a buy the domain yourself.

Like others, I believe it would be superior to pay money for the website manually. If your website was an actual punch, and got back you, it might be actually bad. It is best to use host bidder to obtain your website, as you get complete management over your website.
