Is there any method to check the reality of page rank of a domain?

I am interested to buy a domain of a good page rank, but can someone tell how to check the correctness of a page rank, whether it is a fake one or a original one?

most of the page rank checker is accurate i guess. and you probably should at least check to different checker. heres one.

IMO, the best way is Google itself
go ahead and install G's toolbar and you should be able to find each page you visit PR in the bar, this would save a lot of time

If you want to buy a domain that has a PR, dont check its PR. Use yahoo site explorer and other back link checkers to check the number of backlinks, use whois . sc to check the creation date of the domain. If you find the site is just new and has a high PR, you need to be careful before buying it as it may have a FAKE PR.
