    Default Subdomains

In an effort to centralise, and reduce the amount of repeated subdomain threads, we've decided to compile a list of subdomain services available for free to webmasters.
A subdomain is a domain that is part of a larger domain, i.e. you.domain.com. Most free services offering this, often only offer Redirection. However, some allow you complete DNS control.
    Uni.cc - uni.cc
    Afraid.org - .us.to, .uk.to, etc...
    FreeDomain.co.nr - .co.nr
    Dot.tk - .tk
    v3 - .run.to, cut.by, get.to, etc...
    ShortURL - 2ya.com, vze.com, etc...
    Funky1 - .funky1.com
    C-O.in - .c-o.in
    Shim - op7.net, 2cd.net, shim.com, etc...
    d04.net - .d04.net
    Biz.ly - biz.ly
    da.ru - .da.ru
    ne1.net - .ne1.net
    active.ws - 4x2.net, 321.cn, here.ws etc..
    F2B - ssr.be, short.be, f2b.be, freakz.eu, etc...
    ubb.cc - .ubb.cc
    just.as - .good.to, .fancy.to, .hit.as, .just.as, etc...
    Go.hn - .go.hn
    co.cc - .co.cc
    za.org - .za.net, .za.org
    167.org - .i67.org, .xt.cx
    DNSAU.com.ru - .com.ru, .net.ru, .org.ru
    United Names Organisation - .net.tf , .eu.tf, .us.tf, .de.tf, .pl.tf, etc..

This thread is for the listing of subdomains - not discussion! Feel free to add to the list, or note corrections in the list.

    madringo.

Hey madringo, I appears to me that you have forgotten to add uni.cc. It is the most popular and reliable sub-domain service Anyway, an awesome list you have posted there, I am looking at afraid.org right now

Thank you for the nice list, it is very useful for web masters who haven't got a real top level domain name yet (And don't have time posting at Host Bidder). I am using uni.cc right now, they are awesome.

i have done a list(not as good as yours ) with free subdomains too, and i think i have put some that you haven't!Check the following and if you want add them!Hope i helped you!
For your effort +rep given by me
Shorturl.com has a few short domain names such as *.2YA.com or *.vze.com

    za.org offers *.za.net & *.za.org domains.

i67.orgoffer subdomain: *.i67.org and *.xt.cx(pretty good in my opinion)

dnsau.com.ru offers *.com.ru , *.net.ru and *.org.ru (well its most for russian sites but you may be interested...you never know)

and the best (for me at least) is
    unonic.com. It offers: *.int.tf ,*net.tf ,*.eu.tf, *.us.tf, *ca.tf, *.de.tf, *at.tf, *ch.tf, *.edu.tf, *ru.tf, *.pl.tf, *.cz.tf, *.bg.tf, *.sg.tf

I believe that if you try a simple Google search, you will get a lot of sites that are offering free and short sub-domains (Like uni.cc or co.nr for examples). I personally hate them, I love tld much more even if it costs me $$

That is true, but this list compiles them into one centralised location, so it's easier to find a subdomain provider that suits your needs and requirements - instead of hoping Google gives you the best search results!

I wouldn't be a fan of them myself, but I have to remember it's subdomains that set me up, and helped me gain experience (and revenue) to buy a TLD. They're perfect to newcomers to the webmaster scene!

I agree with you, madringo. jacky, even though sub-domains are not as reliable and good as real top level domains, they are perfect for newbie webmasters who have neither a Credit Card or a Paypal account. I myself like uni.cc , the best free sub domain service on the Net.

dnsau.com.ru that offers the .com.ru subdomains is like a free tld, at your application you put the nameservers of your website so that it can actuually work as a tld ! But the bd thing with them is that it takes TOO much time to review and approve/disapprove the applications... i think my friend had to wait..nearly 2 months...It could of course be just a problem they had that specific time and now they may be able to handle the applicatons faster. But they are a good choice.
We mustont forget to mention that .tk is the best for young webmaster since they offer even e-mail forwarding(!) for free and the ads, can be removed with just a simple sms from your mobile phone(only for specific countries i think)
