Help with phpBB

Hi, i have bought a domain name with the intention of setting up a forum. I have downloaded phpMyAdmin-2.8.0.3
I have already setup the domain to point to my host. I know i need to use mySql etc. But have no idea if i am being honest as to what I am doing.
Is there any trustworthy mod or admin person out there willing to give me a hand. I dont mind paying as long as its a reasonable cost. Can only pay via PayPal though. Guess i could always leave a permanent link on my site to yours as well. As i feel the site will take off eventually.

well first of all you ddon't have to install phpMyadmin...this is just an option in cpanel and not used to make a forum but a database...usually for a forum just look a web host which give cpanel option and then you download phpbb and not phpMyadmin...phpbb is really simple to install...

Well if you already have mySQL installed, you can use cPanel's sql page to create a database and a user for that database, then with that information you can follow the instructions of the forum you want to install, usually everything is explained in enough detail if you know about stuff like CHMOD that you can do it yourself.

I've had experience with phpbb, IPB, and vBulletin and all three are realtivly easy to install if you know about CHMOD and using the mySQL page in cPanel

If you go to phpbb.com i think they give you guides aswell it is pretty simple to set one up although if you want some help doing it i will help you.

Here are the steps required to install

1First of all, download phpBB. Extract the files from the archive to a temporary folder on your PC. Upload all the files to your host

2. Through cpanel/directadmin, create a new database.

3. Run the phpBB2 installation file. It will ask you the details of the database you just created. For example, it will ask you for the name of the database, its username and password.

4. After thats done, proceed with the installation
