Thread: I am looking for an ad affiliate network to place some ads on my site.

Default I am looking for an ad affiliate network to place some ads on my site.

If you are currently using an affiliat network program please tell me about it. In perticular I was wondering what network/program hostbidder uses to place the ads (like the one at the top of this page) on there site. This is the type of network I am looking for becuase the ads appear to be from reputable companys. (I tried one and all they ever put on my site was gambling ads and ads for pyramid schemes freeipod, freepsp, etc.). The ads on this site are quite a bit better.

Bear if you know about this what are the site requirements for a banner like the one on this page as far as site size, # of visitors etc.

HB is using phpAdsnew, a free script from sourceforge. With it you can specify the banner size for each "campaign", or area of the site. You set up a size for the campaign, and it generates the code you paste into the site. The ones you're seeing at the top here are 468x60, and have been set up by Hostbidder (Fergal) himself. Many of these advertisers are actually members here at HB, which is why the quality is so good .

Default I thought you HB might have been part of a ad network

When I saw the powerweb hosting ad I thought this was from an ad network. Do you know of any good affiliate ad networks, ones that actually place ads on your site for normall things. Thanks for your help.

Sorry...I've only just placed the first ever Google ad on one of my sites, so I'm in the dark on that.

I think Michael has given you an excellent selection of networks. Google Adsense is probably the most popular and it is very easy to use. The interesting thing about it is how it displays ads relevant to the content of the page where they are displayed. This helps ensure that the ads displayed are as relevant as possible to your visitors. Adsense also comes with comprehensive reporting tools that provide you with useful info such as clicks, impressions, CPM etc.

Thanks for all of the links! I have copied them down and will start looking into them this weekend. I was thinking of adsense but wasn't sure if it really worked as good as they claim inside websites, But after hearing your high reviews I will look into them more seriously now for sure. I tried fastclick they didn't exactly place the best ads on my site though, I specifically aplied for teck ads and things like that--and all they put up were sites for internet gambling etc. The rightmedia.com site looks promising so I will probably aply there first this weekend.

I use google, amazon and searchfeed.

I recommend google, of course, where they pay per click AND people do click on them.

The nice thing about amazon is that they give you a portion of the sale as opposed to a click price, which Google does not. You have choices as to which ads you'd like to have appear on your site too. Amazon lets you pick products yourself and they give you the option to use Amazon generated ads as well.

I haven't made a penny from searchfeed and they give you very little control over the "look" of the ads. I can't recommend them until I get better results from them.

    I hope this is helpful!
