Does proxy effects on server?

I am wondering that, does a proxy use more resources than any other site?

I've been debating whether or not to host proxies on my server!

yes because as you surf the web you are sending and receiving files. some people even use proxies to download files or watch online videos.

So that usually compensates for your net usage. Not try 100-1,000 People doing it on a web server.
