    Default What type of Images?

What type of images do you like to use for your website, do you like to use jpg files or png files. I have seen that png files takes too less memory.

    Plz let me know

    .gif
is best used for images with flat colors. It offers the ability to "index" colors on your images to make sure that they contain only Web safe colors or a small palette of colors and (with flat colored images) make the images smaller.

    .jpg
The JPG or JPEG file format is meant for photographic images. If an image has photographic qualities, ie. no expanses of flat color, it is well suited to being a jpg file. Photographs that are saved as JPG files will generally be smaller than the same file saved in a GIF format.

    .png
The PNG or Portable Network Graphic is a graphic file format made for the Web. It has better compression, color, and transparency than GIF files. PNG files don't necessarily have to have the .png extension, but that's how you'll most often see them.

Now that's what I call sitting on the fence.

maotse's post above is correct. The real trick is to use the most appropriate format, and generally speaking that's jpg for photographic work, and gif (or png) for all others.

Why should I use jpg instead of png can you explain it. Can I make image transparent using jpg?

i prefer using jpg. im thinking why you did ask this question - is it because when you compress the file, you're experiencing some kind of blur thing on it that it somehow affects the pixel. did you also experience that?

dyou guys know how to avoid this?

i my mind the The JPG or JPEG file format is meant for photographic images. If an image has photographic qualities,. Photographs that are saved as JPG files will generally be smaller than the same file saved in a GIF format.
