Thread: Learning PHP

    Default Learning PHP

Hi, I'm a 14 years old guy from Moldova (a small country). I started feeling I need to learn PHP, so I read some tutorials from w3school, but those are too general. Currently I know (X)HTML, some CSS, some XML, no JavaScript and almost no PHP (just some basic editing). I'd like to ask how did you learn PHP, where, at what age.

    Niku,

Learning PHP is not really that tough. It is easy and fun to learn. It costs you nothing as it is an open source. As you have mentioned W3C is the starting point for learning PHP or any other web development related topics. Now that you started feeling W3C is too basic, you surely need few advanced techniques to play around with. I would suggest you to have a look at these sites:

And if you need any particular topic you always can Google for it. Goodluck and do not forget to practice whatever you read.

You can learn PHP from HTML base code. There are lots of source on the net about PHP tutorials. There are limitation of age to learn PHP programming. My experiences in learning of programming, early learn is the best way, because in the future there are lots work that should we do like do homework of campus, social activities, and soo much other activities. So use your gold age to learn.

    Thanks.

I learnt PHP when I was about 10? I kinddof like learnt while I went along. I started creating alot of crap sites, blah blah. And never really got the importance of PHP. I suggest that you download XAMPP and install it on your local computer. It is like a "web server for your computer" and you can run PHP and MySQL locally.

I don't like to read tutorials 'cause they bore me, but you might love them. So if you do it my way, you just waste and while your time away on codes **OH YEAH. Get Notepad++ ** and learn as you go along. When you come across something that you don't know, then Google it and learn from there.

    Cheers and goodluck
