Default Wordpress Page as Site Home Page

I have a Wordpress blog installed on mydomain.com/blog.

I want to create a page in WP and make it the home page of the site, ie mydomain.com/index.php

    How do I do this?

Also is it possible to "stick" a post in WP, ie make it so that a certain post is always the first post to appear in the blog?

I think you could have a blank page as index.html, & redirect it to the page you want to keep as homepage.
This is only a temporary solution. Maybe you can do something to put it as the permanent homepage, but I havent used WordPress much so cant say.

do u have it installed manually or through fantastico?

anyway, log in to the admin panel, go to Options >> General

    change the info this way
WordPress address (URI): mydomain.com/blog (should be this way already)

    Blog address (URI): myblogdomain.com

also, read this for more info, because u may need to change some stuff manually.

no , all you need to do is take all the files out of the wordpress folder , and install them on your root directory , make sure you don't have an index.html/php already though.

    second question , i don't know.

no , the wordpress will point to the same database as before. All you are doing is moving the directory location of wordpress.
