Thread: Creating Your First Website

  1. #1

    Default Creating Your First Website

Building your first website can be very frustrating. It looks fairly easy, but almost always turns out to be more complicated than you expected.

The problem is, building a website requires technical know-how that you have no way of acquiring until somebody explains it to you. And technical people are often pretty bad at explaining things.

Everyone who has ever built a website eventually discovers that you cannot possibly do it right until you sift through all the techno-jargon and start to understand what you are doing. Building a website is like building a house. You can't put the roof on until you have the walls and foundation in place. And you can't build the walls and foundation without a plan.

But you can't have a useful plan until you have an idea what you want the house to look like, what your options are for building materials, how much the different options cost, etc., etc., etc. In other words, it sure helps to know what you are doing when you are building a house.

The same goes for building websites. That is why we rely on experts.

    The Ultimate Website Package

If you turned to "the experts" to create your small business website, what would the "ultimate website package" look like?

First, it would not cost a lot. Building an effective website does not have to cost thousands of dollars.

Second, it would take care of all the technical stuff for you. Why should you worry about domain names, name servers, html programming, java, flash, shopping carts, and all the rest?

Third, it would go beyond design to include powerful sales copy that would properly highlight your products help sell them.

Fourth, it would include simple, professional looking design that is both impressive and functional, showcasing the most important features of your product.

Fifth, it would include low cost, cutting-edge methods of generating website traffic.

Sixth, it would include sales enhancement techniques that would help you capture sales leads, and give you the tools for following up and closing those sales.

There's another solution just host yourself of simple programs like Yahoo Hosting or Geocities using their payed plans. Also one could use Tripod. But the best thing to do if you want to be educated in this subject as well is by simply learning how to code websites.

it's great to have themfor designning the web site and do agree the current offers on the internet is fairly cheap yet do you still believe that evrything should be done by the professsional. I know it stakes some time but i figure you learn something yourself. because after the professional's built what are you going to do if something happens nad it a simple problem . I read up and see what you can manage on your own.

You are mentioned how those service should be cheap - I say the should not. Why not learn to create web sites yourself, and then earn a decent amount of money from that? Creating a middle-class 10 page HTML/CSS web site can get you over 100 dollars if you are good.

If you do decide to take up that challenge, don't worry much about your fist web site. My first one was a realy piece of ****, even though I tried really hard. Just make sure you create new sites all the time and examine other people's work (by looking at various sites). You could get a book, but don't expect miracles. It's all about practice, and eventually you'll be a real pro

Please quote the article you rip from other websites and place a linkback to them. As I know, this is not your first time you copy and paste articles without quoting.

    Default My Experiance

For the first time, create web site with html editor softwares and post those pages on some free hosting places.

In my case, i made html pages by MicroSoft FrontPage and Posted on Netfirms Free Hosting. But the hosting holds banner on top of every pages. Then i took a .tk domain and point it to the free hosting site.

Hope that you also enjoy well on your first web site.
