Whats an advantage of using dedicated server than the reseller hosting? If i buy dedicated server should I maintain it myself?

Well, the main advantage is that if you have a server with decent specs on a dedicated 100mbit (or even better 1gbit) port you will be able to host a lot more websites, hence a bigger profit margin. If you go for reselling your profit margin will be smaller because its exactly what they are doing.
I would not recommend maintaining a dedicated server yourself unless you have a good grasp of linux, the risk of your server getting hacked and you having to pay a HUGE traffic bill is simply too high. Hope that helps!

If you are new to this world dont go for server first. Try to get reseller hosting first then go for dedicated server

The BIG diffirence is that Dedicated need to be managed and only those who know how should buy one. Reseller hosting is what you should buy when you are just starting out. Reseller hosting is managed by the provider and all you have to do is create packages, market your business and expand.

i think you have to try reseller host service and then you can go for a dedicate server....

The main reason I switched from reseller to dedicated is that with reseller you have no control over who is using the server and crashing it, using up all the cpu etc. I switched to dedicated about 2 years ago and have never regretted it. Recently moved to a new company with full managed servers and 5-20 minute response to support issues...

With a dedicated server you can offer everything
