Lightbulb SEO Copywriting - a career that's flourishing

That's according to this article by Yuwanda Black. SEO Copywriting: A Career That?s Flourishing Despite Tough Economic Times. I really enjoy Yuwanda's writing - she knows her stuff and can be very insightful.

Maybe it's time for a rethink for all you freelance article writers out there as to where to focus upon next.

    Rohitanu, some advice:

First, never claim you can do any topic. You'll get a lot more work specialising in some specific field, you'll find it easier work and you'll quickly become an expert in that field.

You ask for work but suppose I tell you I want 6 articles, 750 words each, on investment banking stragedies? 10 articles on adventure holidays in Borneo? Would I hire the same person for both? Would you?

Also, drop the "u" stuff if you wish to be taken seriously as a writer. Sure, it's your personality showing through - but what's showing is a casual attitude towards the written word, which is the absolute opposite of what a potential client is looking for.

    Best of luck

Totally agree with you! Also, there are so many freelance article writers out there, you have to make yourself stand out by providing add-value service such as article writing+submissions to article directories, you would get much better response, you can always provide free service first in exchange for reviews!

Yep, though I'd hesitate to offer more than one free sample.

Also avoid any "offers" that involve you doing "a few" samples to see if they like you. That's just an easy way of getting free work. Free samples are best kept for when it's YOUR idea, not theirs.

The other thing I'd suggest is getting a website. If you have a site dedicated to your writing people at least know you take yourself seriously. That makes it easier for them to do the same
