It gets on my nerves how many times I see content on web pages that's misspelled or grammatically incorrect. Always use a spellchecker but don't count on that alone! Your own eyes are just as important for spotting when you've used its instead of it's, or you're when it should be your, and so on.
Think it doesn't matter? Maybe it doesn't. But nothing puts me off dealing with a website more than seeing spelling mistakes. It doesn't look professional.
I don't mind helping anyone find mistakes or instances of incorrect usage on their site. We get so used to looking at our own pages it's not hard to overlook them. I confess to having done that myself before.
Just don't ask me to check 500 pages! I have a life and it's a busy one!I would do it in my own time when I can.
