Where do you get ideas for content?

I'm wondering how you all come up with content ideas. What is it that triggers your brain into gear? If we share ideas we can help each other improve our websites.

i actually check my competitors and what they're doing. prove them wrong sometimes lolz.
but for my tech blog, i go to some tech site or tech news. get to install and apply software to my computer, take some screenshots and post how i did it.

In general, I have never spent a lot of time at online forums or groups, because it feels like time is so precious, that to use it aimlessly wandering around looking for more stuff to do seems wasteful.

Basically, by reading others content about the keyword of what I am trying to come up as my content. Ex. if I want to write something about "online business", I'd lurk on different content directories discussing this, and then when I understand a side of it, then there goes my entry point to come up with my own content and elaborate it based on how I understand what I've read.

You can check your content in Copyscape.com Is it copied or not. Or if you want to take idea how should be the content than you can search the topic on Answers dot com . And you can take idea from that

Yeah, you may also trying google search base keywords. Once you identify a useful keyword within you niche, you can then create topics relating to this keyword.

You may want to as well try google insight. Directly accessible here Google Insights for Search This is good when you want to get to know which country is often using the query string you are thinking. For instance, searching for 'seo company' using google insight will give you some graphs such as the regional interest from which it tells you that people coming from India uses this keyword very often. You'll also get a table of top related search terms which may help you decide which keywords to deal with.
