Keep getting an index page when i view my domai

hi everyone, im new to building websites and have just recently uploaded my webpage to my server and all i get is an index page. i had it posted before this and it worked fine. now i cant get it back to being veiwed normally. can anybody help?

Have you checked your .htaccess file there might be some mod rewrite problem it might be redirecting to your home page

no i havnt, im not even sure how to access that file, sorry for my incompentance

If you select wordpress then you will be able to find many plugins available for it too I myself usign wordpress, joomla and drupal as per clients need

Why not to install it just using fantastico of cpanel it will be installed in a few minutes and no need to do manual process.
