As many as you need to deliver the message / information.

I generally aim for a minimum of 400 words, often I will write 800 before I have even looked to see how many I have written though.

About 400 to 500 usually hits the spot. Any longer than that and it gets a bit tedious for the reader.

I try to make sure at least all of mine have a minimum of 300 words. Never anything under that.

Hi, Approximately your word count would be greater then 450 words to get quick approval at article submission site.

If you planning for the website content it may be as large as possible. Try to include a minimum of 800 words in the page. However, the percentage of keywords, usage of title tags and anchor text plays a key role in the SEO.

How to Do a Word Count

Author guidelines usually include a reference to word count as part of the instructions. So what counts as a word, and how should you go about counting?

The one thing you need to understand very clearly is that publications take word count seriously. If they give you a word count, they expect you to stick to it!

    Word count and online publications

If you submit to online publications, you can use the word count feature in your word-processing program, unless the e-zine or website owner has stated otherwise. Always read the submission guidelines carefully!

    Word count and print publications

When you submit to print publications, other counting rules apply. You'll want to calculate your average word count using a simple formula, the way the professionals do.

Before I show you how to calculate your word count, let me tell you the reason behind the word count, so you understand how important it is and why editors are such sticklers on this issue.

Magazines have a limited amount of space to fill in each edition. Your publisher needs to know how much of that space your story or article is going to use up.

    It ain't just about words!

i think you it is good to read a 300-400 words article. more than this i hate to read. long and lengthy articles do not attract always all people. people want to have their information within a shortest possible words.
