Word-Press is more likely to use for blogging, but if you are looking for e-commerce based CMS then definitely Magento, Zen-Cart, and OS-commerce is the best choice.

Same here. WordPress is the CMS. It has a huge variety of different pluggins. We can edit and create its themes, we can edit and create its pluggin. Its a platform for us to experiment and improve our skills.
