Building your Opt-In List

What is an Opt- In List?

? An opt-in list is when people sign up to receive information on a variety of topics, products announcements, e-courses, and much more.
? People come to your website and fill out a sign-up form and that gives you permission to send out whatever you are offering through email.

? You always need their permission for opt-in lists, if not that is called spam. Spam is unsolicited commercial emails, which is sent without the permission of individuals.

How to build your Opt-In List?

? Have a website and put a sign- in form with a subscription box or link on a web page.

? Give something free to individuals for signing up to your mailing list.

? Have an auto-responder to do the email marketing.

? Set up newsletters, articles, announcements, product info, contests info, e-courses to be sent to your potential clients, who sign- up.

? Write articles to establish yourself as an expert in your field to be submitted to directories. Put a link in your article and tie it back to your subscription page on your site.

? Build a trusting relationship.

? Get on forums to participate in discussions to get you and your website out there.

? Write an e-Book because internet marketers are looking for freebies to give away on websites for bonuses. Have your info and a link back to your website in the e-Book.

? On your sign- up page, put something like protecting their privacy by not renting, selling, or sharing their information. This also builds trust with your visitors.

? On the sign- up form, I suggest just to have the visitor?s just fill in first name and email address. Usually people are leery about putting their full name.
