Education and schooling is no longer like how it used to be a decade ago. Things have changed. The learning ability of children has changed. Though the name of the educational boards sound the same, the syllabi has improved to a great extent. It is a daunting task for parents today as to which educational board they should opt for. Be it state board, CBSE or ICSE, the competition is extremely high.

IB (International Baccalaureate) is gaining more popularity when compared to all the other boards. The IB board was hosted in 1968 by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO). Though it was introduced in Geneva, it has considered to have gained the international status.

The methodology adopted by the IB schools is entirely different. The students are exposed to a whole new world of learning and discovering new things. Unlike the other educational boards, the students in the IB schools exposed to a broader spectrum of subjects. They are versatile. The students are not limited to learning from particular books and authors. They can choose their own appropriate books.

The training given at an IB school is more real-world based. The assignments are said to be the key element that motivates the children to perform at a higher level. It is not all about the number of assignments but the quality of assignments that allows them to reach greater heights.

As the name suggests, yes, this syllabus is recognized all over the world. Students not only migrate within the country but across the globe to attain the best education. Being in an IB school, it is easier for them to adapt themselves at any school in the world which follows IB education. No other educational board has gained this status.

International schools Bangalore offer IB education. It is recorded that every year, students from different educational boards migrate to this system. An international school in Bangalore boasts of implementing the best education system in the world.

Default Advantages of IB system of education

I completely agree with Bryan and i would also like to share my views on IB education in particular as I have the first hand experience with my son being in an IB world school.

Firstly I would like to say that the IB curriculum is designed to insure a cohesive, comprehensive education for students, no matter where they live in the world.
Students who complete this program are preparing, not only for success in university, but also for success in life.
They gain a broader world view; follow in-depth approaches to the academic disciplines; and develop time management, problem solving, research, and organizational skills that will remain with them long after the IB experience is over.

An additional benefit is that student work is assessed over a two-year period using internationally accepted performance standards.
Students who succeed in the IB Program do better than any other group of students in university level work. As a group, IB students earn higher average SAT scores and maintain higher grade point averages at universities than students who have not attended IB schools.

Furthermore, most university admissions officials expect students, particularly scholarship applicants, to take the most challenging courses of which they are capable in high school.
Also, students who take IB courses learn to see the world from a variety of perspectives, to examine different points of view, and to see themselves as part of the world community.

The International Baccalaureate is quite simply the most exciting high school academic program offered today.
It challenges students to move out of their comfort zone - to undertake projects and areas of study that are new to them. It challenges them to think in sophisticated ways about the connections between ideas in different areas of study and puts learning in an international context.

Also, i would like to share something about NES International School Mumbai where my son is studying. This school also has IGCSC BOARD, which gives you dual certificates for smooth admission in Indian Universities.
