Get rich quick schemes are the rage on the Internet. Everywhere you turn, you come across an advertisement for a business opportunity that claims to be able to make you rich beyond your wildest dreams. But even the most gullible will admit that probably most of such businesses or opportunities will fail to deliver on their promise.

But there are proven techniques that have worked time and again. I have compiled a list of get rich quick schemes that, although I can't guarantee that you can get rich off them, I can guarantee that somebody somewhere had made tons of money off every single one of these techniques.

Marry Into Money

This is the oldest get rich quick scheme in the book but it still works very well. Who needs love when they have money right? But the modern age has introduced a new complication - the prenuptial agreement. Unless you have every intention of remaining married, you must find a way to skillfully navigate this thorny issue.

Start A Ponzi Scheme

A ponzi scheme is a fabulous way to make some money on the side if you are able to get in early. But if you want to make an obscene amount of money, you must be the one that is running the scheme. It's not difficult really. Just come up with a great money making idea, get investors to put in money and promise them a very good monthly return.

The money invested does not go to any business venture. Instead, you use some of it to pay back the investors as their monthly return. The rest of the money goes to fatten your wallet.

Buy A Lottery Ticket

Among all the schemes listed here, the lottery might be the one to have made the most instant millionaires. And it requires no planning and expertise. I mean, how difficult can circling a few few numbers be, right? And the payout is in the millions.

However, before you go off and buy your castle in Switzerland, remember that you have a rather poor chance of winning. Fact is, if you were to buy one ticket every week for the rest of your life, there is an extremely good chance that you would not win even once.

Become A Beggar

Find a busy sidewalk, and make yourself comfortable on the cold hard concrete. Put up a sign that says something really sad like, "I put my life savings in Lehman Brothers." Put a tin cup or a hat in front of you and watch the money roll in.

Conclusion

This article presents a tongue in cheek look at get rich quick schemes and also to highlight that real get rich quick schemes do not exist in real life. A few schemes might work temporarily for a short while, but they will lose their effectiveness once word gets around and more people implement their methods.
