    Pay Per Click for Newbies

Pay-Per-click advertising is a great way to make money with the best affiliate programs. Unfortunately not every Pay-Per-Click engine will make you money. Sometimes you can get loads of visitors but very few will convert to a purchase or sign-up. The best PPC advertising is Google Adwords. Yahoo Search Marketing isn't bad either and sometimes less competitive. If you prepare your campaign correctly you will get highly targeted visitors within hours checking out your site. Some keywordws and keyword phrases just do better than others. If you are starting your online affiliate marketing company on a shoestring, then article marketing might be best for you to start with. Ready To Learn A Little More About Pay Per Click?
There are 2 sources that Google uses for displaying your ads. Their search engine is my favorite way and different related websites (content search). The most targeted is their search engine. From content search listings you will get a lot of traffic but usually it doesn't convert as many actual buyers. (Side Note: Certain Niches Do Better With Content Search And The cost Per Click Is Lower) Whether you include content or just use the search engine listings, keep this in mind and consider your targeted or demographic market.

6 Steps for starting a Google Adwords campaign:

    1. Create your account and look for the confirmation link needed to activate it in your email.

    2. Start a new campaign by clicking the link "Keyword-Targeted" campaign.

    3. Name the campaign (keep it relavant to the ad headlines)

    4. Name your ad group ( I like knowing my keywords in the ad group name for ease of tracking later)

    5. Name the area, country, territory, regions, cities, or customized

    6. Create your ad - it needs to have a high CTR (click through ratio) in order to keep your per cost low.

3 Tips to improve your campaign:

    1. Monitor your campaigns to see which ones are performing well.

    2. Join high paying affiliate programs to offset costs and make this campaign really effective and profitable. Plus good affiliate programs will help you set your ads up and give you more tips and tricks of the trade.

    3. Use as many keywords as you can to attract all the people in your market. I prefer the long tail keywords and mis-spellings. They are cheaper and with thousands of them you will get good conversions. You can't start a campaign with a lot of low clicked keywords but after a week or two you'll usually be fine to start adding massive lists of longtail keywords. (the reason longtails seem to work for me is that people who use them are usually ready to buy)

Common Mistakes to avoid with Pay Per Click:

    1. Do not use mirror sites Or sites with duplicate content - for Google campaigns you'll convert better with keyword specific landing pages relative to your ad. You'll also need privacy policies and terms and conditions. (my blog talks alot about this stuff)

    2. No Pop ups or Pop under are allowed by Google.

    3. Do not bid too high !!! - although Google will often adjust this and lower your bid you really can't stand to spend to much per click.

Google Adwords is very cost effective. It only takes a $5 deposit to start off your keyword advertising campaign. Read the entire tutorial that Google provides ( it will take several hours probably but is well worth it.) very carefully before you begin. Start with low bids and work up. Using trial and error can be costly. A good affiliate program offers in depth training. Understand that some keywords will have high priced bids and others cheap bids. Try to keep an eye on your campaign and don't go over budget.

Your Successful google adwords pay per click campaign hinges on using highly targeted keywords. You can get keywords for your site at http://goodkeywords.com - Google will also supply you with some basic ones based on your web address. Plus you have option to narrow down the search by phrase and specific words.
