Internet Marketing Mistakes - Businesses Fail by Not Sticking to the Plan

"Plan your business or plan to fail." That's how the old saying goes. But what many internet marketing business owners do not realize is that even with a plan your business can fail. Having a plan is only good if your sticking to it properly.
Getting derailed from your chosen path is going to make your business struggle to get to where you want to be. You will often feel as if your going backwards, and losing ground could discourage even the best marketer.
Keep your business plan up to date and keep your efforts on track.
There is no hard and fast rule that once a marketing plan is made that it cannot be remade. This being said, you should follow some simple guidelines to make sure you continue to stay on the course.
You should always have a written business plan for any new marketing endeavor. Even if your business model is written on a napkin, (some of the best ones have been), it can and be modified until it has become exactly what your needs.
Keep your business plan handy and refer back to it at least once every couple months. This helps to make sure that you are still on track with the goals you set down on paper. If you start to get off-track, either adjust your plan or adjust how your business runs. You will need to make adjustments along the way.
The purpose of a business plan is to make sure that you have a specific tool by which to benchmark your progress. If your not making progress then you are not on track with your plan. It will do you absolutely no good to create one and never look at it again.
