The other day I was listening to business coach/guru Brian Tracy and made an interesting comment towards the end of his speech on the topic of reaching success: "..and remember you might be just one skill away from doubling your income..."

What makes a person valuable in the marketplace? The answer to this question is one simple word according to guru Jim Rohn: Skills. You can have all of the College degrees and what not but if you are lacking the necessary skills - at the end of the day you are not that very valuable in the marketplace.

A personal story: I don't like Google's PPC program. I never had the patience to learn it. A few months ago a client approached me with a social media marketing project. I took the project and about two weeks after I started, he said that he would be willing to pay me more if I can also run a PPC campaign for him and if not then he will find someone else to run the PPC campaign. Its never good to lose a customer. So I went and studied PPC very quickly with a tutor and I was able to run a successful PPC campaign for this client. Now that I have added a new skill to my services - my services have become more valuable to the marketplace.

What is creativity? As Brian Tracy explains: Creativity is improving. Ask your self every day: What am I doing to improve things, areas in the my business? What new skills am I adding? What new skill will I learn today?
