How to Create an Online Marketing Strategy That Works
by Published on 08-19-2009 03:16 PM
If you expect your web site to keep your cash box clicking every time, you must have an effective online marketing strategy. There are several ways to achieve this, and an understanding of the various components that make up your strategy will be important. Your effort should be tuned to your business rather than adopting generalized principles. The following discussion will help you identify some of the components.
1. Your Home page
The home page of your web site is more like your business card. But that is not to say that it should contain just the business address and contact details. In fact it should give the reader a broad overview of what you are, and what should be expected of you. Achieving this through a concise mission statement and yet keeping control over the page is the trick, or in other words it should be effective while being brief.
2. Navigational control
In providing the navigation controls, take care to incorporate corresponding text for the graphics. Understand that some people would never opt to view graphics. For them, if you provide an option of viewing the text, you would still be addressing the purpose.
3. Text Control
Long winding text is not for the web viewer. Typically, most people do not read through a whole page of text. Therefore, an effective online marketing strategy should address this issue squarely. Breaking your content into smaller parcels and laying it out across multiple pages can help when you have long content. On each page, you can link subsequent pages appropriately.
