You will be absolutely delighted with your Twitter Community (Tribe) when you apply my process for identifying your niche and targeted audience. This process will take you from a general niche and untargeted audience to a pinpointed niche and targeted audience. You will be in a position to establish yourself as an expert in your niche.
Would you like your own ideal Twitter Community with people who are interested in what you have to offer? It may be a particular expertise you have. It might be your advice on how to handle a problem. It may be a product or service that can improve their quality of life.
The process does take time, but the end result is well worth the effort. Here are some questions for you to ask yourself.
What would you like to give?
* What is unique about you? Ex: Are you a great storyteller?
* Do you have a special knowledge? Ex: Do you know all about photography?
* Do you have a special skill? Ex: Do you enjoy working with young adults?
* What do you enjoy doing? Ex: Do you enjoy creating recipes?
* What do your closest friends enjoy about you? Ex: Do you have a great sense of humor?
* What common interests do you share with your friends? Ex: Do you and your friends enjoy running marathons
What would you like to receive?

* Do you want to find customers for your products or services? Ex: Would you like to find people who want a healthy way to lose weight?
* What kind of people would you like to associate with? Ex: Would you like to connect with other stay-at-home moms with small children?
Identifying your unique niche takes time. In the beginning expect your niche to be general and untargeted. Work at narrowing its scope. Your goal is to become an expert in a pinpointed niche, rather than being average in a general niche.
Here are some activities that will help you pinpoint your niche to a specialty that will enable you to stand out as an expert.
* I use Twitter Grader on keywords related to my niche to find out what other people are saying about them. Ex: NASCAR racing.
* Follow some of the hashtags related to your niche. Ex: #health
* Do a Google search on 'quotes niche.' i use Tweet Later to schedule my tweets in advance and distribute them throughout the day.
* Aim at limiting your tweets to 90-120 characters to make room for others to Retweet them. Target your tweets to people in your niche.
* Give more than you take. Make about 80% of your tweets Educational, Enlightening, or Entertaining for people in your niche. Limit your tweets about yourself to 20% or less.
Take action on applying this process in identifying your niche and targeted audience. As you pinpoint your niche and targeted audience, you will be in a position to establish yourself as an expert in your niche.
