Thread: Ant And Larvae - Vector art for a blog article

Default Ant And Larvae - Vector art for a blog article

Well, here is another one of vector art that I created. It took roughly 2 hours from concept to final stage in Inkscape.

My friend who is in the team of authors for my blog has written an extensive write-up on a nature related topic that dealt with parasatic blue butterflies (their larvae), ants and wasps. I was pretty impressed by the write up and thought I should make a image to accompany with it. So, I started doodling with stuff and got the concept. Then I fired up the Inkscape and this is what I have:

I attempted an caricature-cartoon like feel and also wanted it to look like someone had interrupted the ant in whatever it was doing.

Comment and critique please. Though I would not be changing anything in this image, comments and feedback would help me improve my skills.

    Total Effort: 2 hrs
    Software: Inkscape

Wow. vector art is one of the things ive been wanting to try out but havent gotten the time. For a 2-hour work, this is something good.

i like the shadow effect of that 'something' that's trying to interrupt the ant, realistic effect.

Im not really sure if it'd fit the article your friend wrote coz i havent read it, but what the heck, your image is rocks! and the larvae looks cute too!

once again you manage to amaze me , it looks great , and i love the way it's shaded , and i like the shadow of the "interrupter" , but hey , what can i say except it looks great. .

hehe, thats quiet cool...i like the facial expression of the larvae, hes really funny. its really good considering you say you did it in around two hours. vector art is really nice, it always looks professional and as if you have spent hours on it.
however with me not reading the article it is for, i dont know if it is a metaphor for something, but i do like it

Thanks p00ned u for your comments and thanks to iamlica too for yours.

Once the blog post gets published, I will post a link here. You can see for yourself.

Edit: You were quick posting that vicky_william. Thanks for your comments. I just read through that article before it gets published and came up with the above concept based on one of the scenes that struck me the most out of the many things described there.

As I said, I will post the link once it is published. Thanks all!
