Spread it around. If you're trying to use Shortners to redirect, I'm not really the guy for advice. When I market, it's in your face, even if I'm decieving you, it's in your face. I try to make anything affiliate shine like I own it, and make it look unique.
Promoting my own links is simple, I came here this morning to swap out my signature links, allitle over exposed. I'll change them, I also rotate them on my own forums.

Twitter, as bad as some think it is, is a great announcing tool, gets a link/page indexed in under an hour sometimes. Also face book, even if noone clicks your link, you're trying to expose it, I think.

Aside from knowing the niche of the affiliate link I would personally take the following actions..

1. Have a professional splash page created for lead capture. ** there are many providers online that will render this service.
2. Promote this splash page via forums, blogs, and other niche related free sources as warrichpk mentioned above.
3. Build up your lists and from there promote your products via short links. ** I recommend Aweber.com for building your lists.
