Is Adwords profitable way to earn money?

I am going to join Google Adwords and wanna ask you experienced web masters if it is profitable way to earn money? Could you share your personal experience?

Adwords really is the best form of online marketing as you can target the customers as specific (or as general) as you like at low costs. It is also not a case of the person with the most money winning as a well structured and optimised account can beat the guy who is only spending money and no time on his account. For example:

Company A can be spending $0.75 to be in 3rd position while Company B can be spending $0.50 and be in 1st position all because Company B are managing their account according to Google's standards.

My clients have great success stories since I have got hold of their accounts, with one guy making $200 - $300 a day from doing nothing at all!

Ofcourse adwords is the best way to get traffic to your site and if you get traffic then you can earn money.
